Rylai: Hi! I’m Libby. Libby Belle, the #Americangirl. I wasn’t in the Saturday fox encounters today. You likely won’t meet me or pet me. You see, I’m not one of those Russian domesticated foxes like #viktor, #maksa, #mikhail. I’m just a captive bred fox that was born in the US. .
Don’t feel sorry for me, you see, I don’t want to meet you and if I was forced to meet you, I likely will yell at you and possibly bite you. The Bassetts rescued me and brought me into their canid family. They love me just as much as they love their fancy Russians.... even though I try to bite them all the time. I honestly cannot help myself. You see, I wasn’t selectively bred for numerous generations to be friendly towards humans. I was captive bred and raised by a loving human until the Bassetts rescued me. They understand me and work with me to help me feel more comfortable in new situations. But they understand my needs and protect me from too much stress. Meeting you would stress me way the heck out!! The Russians also help me by teaching me that new things aren’t so scary and likely won’t hurt me... they are like damn hippie foxes!!! While I am scared of some of the Russian foxes, I love them and know they are my voice!!! They teach you about how amazing I am... how you should protect foxes like me!! I can’t do it, so they do it for me!! When you meet them, you fall in love with foxes forever!!! And that includes foxes like me! .
If you want to help me, help people like the Bassetts who creatively brought these Special fancy foxes to their center to speak for me in a way no human or other fox could! Support them, so they can bring more of me to their center!! They can save more foxes and help you fall in love! .
You can support them by volunteering, bringing more Russians to be my voice, sponsor enclosures, enrichment, or sponsor me! .
